Message from Naomi Kinjo, Director, International Student Center

My name is Naomi Kinjo. I took over as the 7th Director of the International Student Center from professor Noriyuki Suzuki in April 2010 (Heisei 22). As I am the first female director, I am thinking about making the Center better from the point of view of women. As you might know, I specialize in education technology and Japanese education. |

I am mainly teaching Japanese to foreign students and working in contact with foreign students all the time. I believe that a teacher has a chance to learn things from students, and one who teaches foreign students has more of a chance to do so. When we deal with foreign students, our viewpoint will expand and our thinking will deepen. That is why I am happy to sincerely welcome foreign students to the University.
The faculty and staff of the University of Ryukyus consider foreign students as an important resource that we receive from their country, their university, and their parents. Therefore, even with your limited time for studying abroad, we at the International Student Center and the International Affairs Section will try hard to support you as much as possible. Please feel free to stop in at the International Student Center if you have any questions or need any help.
